The overall goal of Brilliant Academy Health Center is to admit, retain, and produce students who will successfully complete the program and become proficient health care providers when entering the field of employment.  The nursing curriculum is designed to prepare participants to deliver efficient and quality care.  The students are trained to aregard the total individuality, by maintaining respect and dedication  to their purpose in nursing.

The nurse will respect the culture differences and/or similarities. Right to confidentiality and privact is foremost in the minds of the caregivers. 

ENTRANCE / ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS: Programs of four hundred fifty (450) or more clock hour equivalent shall administer a basic skills examination to each student who enrolls, unless the student has provided evidence of a high school graduation diploma, general equivalency diploma, or its equivalent.

PRACTICAL NURSING PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Be at least 18 years of age (must present a valid ID with date of birth)

  • Applicants will be required to take a Nursing Entrance Exam test (NET)  and receive a minimum score of 75%. (According to the Commissioner for Independent Education, Thomas Kinchen: students must take and pass the NET in order to successfully pass and graduate from the enrolled program).

  • Students may retake the NET after one month from the time of unsuccessfully reaching the 75%  with a remedial course.  Failure to successfully pass the NET with a 75% or higher for the second time will disqualify the student from enrolling in the program.

  • Test must be taken withing three months of being enrolled.

  • Have a personal interview with the admissions representative or a school official and obtain approval.

  • Submit a signed admission agreement and make payment arrangements or the requried tuition / fees of full payment for the program. Non-refundable fees: Application and registration fees. These fees are included in the total program cost.

  • Have a valid high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

  • Obtain or sign a declination for the Hepatitis B vaccine prior to their admission; negative PPD result or chest X-ray.

  • Physical exam completed and signed by a physician.

  • FDLE criminal background check.

  • Submit a drug result test.

  • Submit to school official a copy of the social security card.

  • Applicant has to be an American citizen or legal alien with student visa or equivalent (I20)

  • Hold a current BLS (Basic Life Support)  Healthcare Provider Certification from the American Heart Association or obtain certification within two months of enrollment.

Brilliant Academy Health Center reserves the right to reject an applicant on the basis of not meeting the entrance requirements. 

PROGRAM OBJECTIVE: The Practical Nursing Program offered by Brilliant Academy Health Center is designed to provied the students with sufficient knowledge and skills to effectively practice and to successfully pass the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX). The graduate Practical Nurse will leave the school with basic knowledge and skills with a strong foundation for building higher levels.  They will enter the work force with these skills and function effectively as a team member.
